Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competition Omni & Fuji BJJ Tournament Recap
Posted: September 25, 2017
This was an eventful weekend for Bronx Jiu-Jitsu. Little, Junior and Teen grapplers made their way over to our sister school Omni Martial Arts in Queens for their in-house BJJ tournament on Saturday morning. While this was the very first competition for some of them, they all went out there and gave it their best. They ALL had great performances and some even brought back some medals!
Trey Braggs: Wins Silver Medal.
Julian Febres: Wins Silver Medal.
Elijah Turbides: Wins Gold Medal.
Sunday was the Fuji BJJ Open. Some of the more seasoned teen grapplers along with some adults made some waves at this grappling tournament. The whole team put on a show once again bringing back home 6 Gold medals, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze.
Jacob Lopez: Wins Gold medals in 2 Divisions.
Justine Burgos: Wins Gold in her division.
Ivan Feliciano: Wins Gold in his division.
Theresa D'Andrea: Wins Gold in her division.
Luis Cabrera: Wins Gold in his Division
Matthew Gardinet: Wins Silver in his division.
Michael Gardinet: Wins Silver in his division.
Jeson Rosario: Wins Bronze in his division.
Some of us were even lucky enough to experience what a BJJ tournament is like from a different perspective. Three of Bronx Jiu-Jitsu's very own were working the event that day, giving them a chance to experience these grappling tournaments from the eyes of refs and ring coordinator.
Stay Tuned as some of our Coaches and team members will compete this upcoming Saturday September, 30 at the No-Gi Pans BJJ competition.
